The Second Niger Bridge

The Second Niger Bridge: Is a key national infrastructure located in the south eastern part of Nigeria, spanning over the river niger to connect Asaba city and the Ogbaru area in Anambra state of Nigeria. The icon bridge was constructed to supplement and decongest the Niger bridge. The bridge which was contracted and engineered by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, financed by the Nigeria federal government and maintained by the federal ministry of works. The second Niger Bridge which is 1.63km long; furnished with other ancillary infrastructure, including a 10.3kmhighway, Owerri interchange and a toll station; all at Obosi city, Anambra state. Costing about N336 Billion. commenced in September, 2018. Inaugurated in October, 2022. It opened for local traffic on December, 2022. And scheduled for official handover and usage on 15 May, 2023.
